Gal joined the UCL Faculty of Laws as a PhD candidate in September 2022. He is currently in the final stages of his thesis on the application of the rules restricting the use of force by States during armed conflicts, contributing to the literature on the legal limits imposed on States once they are already engaged in an ongoing violent dispute. Gal’s research includes a comprehensive analysis of State practice during ongoing armed conflicts, such as the Russian invasion to Ukraine, essential for understanding the regulation of the use of armed force. Since 2023, Gal has also been working as a Graduate Lecturer at UCL, teaching public and private international law to undergraduate and postgraduate students, foundational modules to first year undergraduate students, and serving as an academic mentor.
