Book Discussion on Uglješa Grušić’s Torts in UK Foreign Relations

Written by

The blog is thrilled to announce its upcoming discussion on Dr Uglješa Grušić’s new book, Torts in UK Foreign Relations, part of the Oxford University Press Private International Law Series, published in June 2023.

Grušić, an Associate Professor at UCL’s Faculty of Laws, will initiate the conversation with an introductory post. Subsequent contributions will come from Philippa Webb, Professor of Public International Law at King’s College London; Alex Mills, Professor of Public and Private International Law at UCL; and Cedric Ryngaert, Professor of Public International Law at Utrecht University. These posts will explore different dimensions of Grušić’s book, covering topics such as the foreign act of state doctrine, the choice of law, and comparisons between the UK and Dutch approaches to tortious liability for the extraterritorial exercise of public power. Finally, the discussion will close with a response by Grušić.

We invite readers to engage in the discussion by sharing their thoughts in the open comments section for each post. We hope you enjoy the debate!
