About/Bio

Veronika Bílková is a professor in International Law at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University in Prague, a head of the University Centre for Conflict and Post-Conflict Studies in Prague and a senior researcher at the Centre for International Law of the Institute of International Relations, Prague. She is member of the European Commission for Democracy Through Law (Venice Commission) of the Council of Europe and a former member of the Management Board of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and of the Board of the European Society of International Law (ESIL). She was part of five missions established under the OSCE Moscow Mechanism with respect to the Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Her research focuses on the use of force, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, international human rights, and the rule of law.
