Mariana Salazar Albornoz is an international lawyer with 20+ years of experience in Public International Law, International Humanitarian, Criminal & Human Rights Law, Cyber Diplomacy and Digital Law & Policy. She is currently a Member of the Editorial Board of the ICRC’s International Review of the Red Cross and a Member of the Board of the UN Register of Damage Caused by the Construction of the Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. She is also an Adjunct Professor at IE University in Madrid and at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Between 2019 and 2022 she was a Member of the OAS’ InterAmerican Juridical Committee, where she served as rapporteur on Privacy and Data Protection and on International Law applicable to Cyberspace. Among her previous roles, she served for 13 years in various directorships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and she was also Regional Manager for the Latin American Association of Internet (ALAI), and for the Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities. She holds a Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and a Master's Degree in International Relations specialized in International Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
