Hervé Ascensio is professor of international law at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Sorbonne Law School). He acted as counsel in several cases before the International Court of Justice, and as an expert before investment arbitral tribunals. He is a conciliator at the Court of conciliation and arbitration within the OSCE, and a national expert for the OSCE human dimension. He is the author of numerous publications on general public international law, international criminal law, and international economic law; in particular, he co-edited a treatise on international criminal law in French (Pedone, 2nd ed., 2012; 3rd forthcoming). He is co-editor of the Annuaire français de droit international (French yearbook of international law).
