About/Bio

Dr Catherine Blanchard is Assistant Professor of Public International Law at Utrecht University, and Senior Research Associate at NILOS and UCWOSL. Her research focuses on the law of the sea, international environmental law, deep-sea ecosystem management, areas beyond national jurisdiction, international fisheries law, and (environmental) governance studies. She also has a particular interest in stakeholder engagement and policy research. Catherine is also affiliated with the UU-NIOZ multidisciplinary project on hydrothermal vent fields.
