Announcements: Virtual Training at BIICL; CfP Young European Law Scholars Conference

1. Virtual Training at BIICL Autumn 2020. During Autumn 2020 BIICL training will be moving to the virtual space allowing global access to its courses and addressing the practical constraints brought on by COVID-19. The virtual course format will consist of a series of sessions in which live teaching is offered via Zoom. Participants will be able to interact with the tutors and amongst themselves on screen. Courses available at BIICL this Autumn: Law of the Sea – starts 9 September; Public International Law in Practice – starts 29 September; Business and Human Rights – starts 7 October; and, Climate Change Law – starts 19 October. Course costs and available discounts can be found on the BIICL website or contact the Events Team.

2. CfP: Young European Law Scholars Conference. The University of Zurich is hosting the 4th Young European Law Scholars Conference in partnership with the Liechtenstein Institute and sponsored by ESIL. The Conference takes place on 20 – 21 May 2021 at Zurich University. It addresses young scholars whose research engages either with EU law or with other multi-and bilateral treaties of Europe, including the ECHR, the European Social Charter, other Council of Europe agreements, the EEA or the EFTA, etc. The Conference aims to critically examine the Preambles of European Treaties with regard to their significance and efficacy. Juliane Kokott delivers the keynote and senior scholars provide individual feedback to each participant. The application deadline is 15 October 2020. For further information and the CfP, see here.
