1. Call for Submissions: Doctoral and Early-Career Scholars Colloquium – Fairness in International Economic Adjudication – Procedure, Substance, and Institutional Design. Submissions are invited for this colloquium to be held on 10 December 2026 at the University of Geneva. The colloquium will explore competing conceptions of fairness in the interpretation, application, and institutional development of international economic law. Papers are welcomed on topics including international investment law and arbitration, WTO law and dispute settlement, international taxation, economic sanctions, sustainable development, and related areas of international economic governance. The colloquium is convened by Vasiliki Dritsa, PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant in International Law at the University of Geneva, with the support of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Conférence universitaire de Suisse occidentale (CUSO). Submission deadline: 30 September 2026. Selected participants will be notified by 8 October 2026. 2. Call for Papers: Romanian Yearbook of International and European Law. The Romanian Yearbook of International and European Law (RYIEL) is inviting proposal submissions for its inaugural volume (2026). Published by Brill | Nijhoff, RYIEL provides a forum for original scholarship in public international law and European Union law. The inaugural volume is devoted to a special theme: The Tradition of International Law in Central and Eastern Europe. The volume seeks to explore these traditions from historical, doctrinal, comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives, while examining their continuing relevance to contemporary international and European law. RYIEL welcomes original and unpublished contributions engaging with this special theme. Proposal submissions  should only include a brief abstract (approx. 300–600 words) describing the proposed article and a declaration regarding the originality of the proposed article. Abstract submissions should be sent to ryiel {at} e-uvt(.)ro by 20 August 2026, with selections to be announced by 10 September. More details can be found here.

3. Call for Submissions: Trade, Law and Development – Reimagining Global Trade: Industrial Policy and Strategic Autonomy in a Changing Global Order. Trade, Law and Development (TL&D) has issued a call for submissions for a Special Issue with the theme  “Reimagining Global Trade: Industrial Policy and Strategic Autonomy in a Changing Global Order” (Vol. XVIII, No. 1). While the theme is broad enough to cover a wide range of issues, an indicative list of specific areas is as follows: Industrial Policy and the Future of WTO Subsidy Disciplines; National Security Exceptions and Strategic Autonomy in Trade; Critical Minerals and Resource Governance; Green Industrial Policy, Climate Measures, and Trade; Digital Trade, Digital Industrial Policy, and Technological Sovereignty; Artificial Intelligence, Data Governance and Trade; Developing Economies and the Future of Global Trade; Industrial Policy and the Transformation of Global Value Chains; Investment Screening and Economic Security; Export Controls and Technology Transfer Restrictions; and, Plurilateralism and the Transformation of Trade Governance. 4. Call for Expressions of Interest: The Konkoop Early Careers Lab. The KonKoop (Cooperation and Conflict in Eastern Europe) Research Network is inviting expressions of interest from early career researchers from any disciplinary background (particularly PhD researchers, early post-doctoral researchers, and young professionals) investigating conflict and cooperation in Eastern Europe, Southeast Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, who are interested in joining its (free) Early Career Lab (ECL) initiative. The ECL, hosted by the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) in Regensburg, is an academic incubator that will provide support, training, and opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development for its members. 5. Head of FAO’s Development Law Service Vacancy. There is a vacancy for the Head of FAO’s Development Law Service (LEGN), the service that advises the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and its Members on legal and institutional means to promote and regulate national development and international cooperation in the food and agriculture sector, through law reform activities, legal research, data collection, technical assistance and capacity building in the areas of land, water, fisheries, plants, animals, food, forestry, wildlife, biodiversity and the environment, as well as other legal issues related to food and agriculture (including, but not limited to, nutrition, trade, technology). 6. Call for Papers: Symposium on The Global Arms Race and Armed Conflict – Human Rights Beyond the Battlefield. The Editors of the Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Brill Nijhoff – SCOPUS-indexed) are inviting submissions to their upcoming online symposium on “The Global Arms Race and Armed Conflict: Human Rights Beyond the Battlefield” to be held on Friday 27 November 2026. They encourage submissions from scholars and practitioners from diverse disciplines and geographical regions. Abstract (max. 250 words) and bio (max. 100 words) should be submitted by 15 September 2026 to the General Editor, Prof. Dr. Matthias Vanhullebusch (matthias.vanhullebusch {at} uhasselt(.)be).
