1. Call for Papers: Latin American SIL Biennial Conference. A call for papers or panels addressing the theme of SLADI’s biennial conference on “Latin American International Law”, which will take place between 29 November and 1 December 2023, at the University of São Paulo, has been issued. This year’s theme seeks to place Latin America as a unit of analysis, and to place its thoughts and perspectives on international law at the centre of the debate. It also explores the role of regionalism in a global regulatory context, and the interests and characteristics that unite and separate Latin America. SLADI invites abstracts that address concerns and developments specific to the region, such as international environmental law, the impact of human activity on future generations, international investment law, the rise of populism, among other areas of concern. It also welcomes papers on the relationship with other regions, the growing role of China in the region, the new geopolitical configuration, historical human rights issues, the law of the sea, peaceful dispute resolution and transitional justice. For further information, see here.
