1. Call for Papers: Human Rights Law – Prospects, Possibilities, Fears and Limitations Conference. The 2023 European Human Rights Law Conference is being held at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Law from 28 – 29 September 2023. The theme of the conference is ‘Human Rights: Prospects, Possibilities, Fears and Limitations’. Keynotes include Judge Paulo Pinto de Albuquerque, Professor Conor Gearty KC, Dr Elaine Webster and Lady Brenda Hale. Abstracts are invited from those at any career stage, and papers are welcomed  from academics, practitioners and those working for Non-Governmental Organisations as well as others. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and can address any aspect of the conference theme. Papers will be selected on the basis of merit and fit with the conference theme. 2. Call for Papers: China and Europe in the African Continent – Economic, Legal and Political Perspectives. Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies has announced a call for papers for the Conference ‘China and Europe in the African Continent: Economic, Legal and Political Perspectives’. This interdisciplinary event will take place on 30 November -1 December 2023 and will bring together scholars, policy makers, and practitioners to engage in a constructive and informed debate on the different strategies pursued by Europe and China in Africa, and their impact on the continent’s development, governance, and security. 3. Call for Abstracts: The Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law. The Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law has extended the deadline of abstract submission for its Volume 26 (2023) call for papers. The theme is ‘Humanitarian actors’ and interested authors should send an abstract of 500 words to the Managing Editor of the Yearbook, Dr. Stavros Evdokimos Pantazopoulos (s.pantazopoulos {at} asser(.)nl) by 15 June 2023. The call is here.

4. The Forthcoming ICJ Advisory Opinion and the Question of Palestine Webinar. On 14 June 2023 at 5 pm Jerusalem time (UTC+3), the Diakonia IHL Centre will host a webinar titled The Forthcoming ICJ Advisory Opinion and the Question of Palestine, featuring speakers Professor Susan Akram (Boston University), Dr Marco Longobardo (University of Westminster), and Dr Munir Nuseibah (Al-Quds University).
