Announcements: CfP Economic Security and Competitive Markets; CfP The Irish Yearbook of International Law; CfA Yerevan International Conference on International Humanitarian Law

1. Call for Papers: Economic Security and Competitive Markets – Reconciling Conflicting Ambitions. The Research Centre for State and Law (SteR) at Radboud University is inviting abstracts for an international conference entitled Economic Security and Competitive Markets: Reconciling Conflicting Ambitions, which will take place on 22 January 2027 at the AKD Law Firm Amsterdam Office, Amsterdam. The conference explores how economic security can be advanced while preserving the foundations of competitive and open markets. It features two thematic panels: Market Dynamics and Economic Security and Government Spending and Economic Security. Selected papers will be considered for publication in an edited volume. Abstracts should be submitted by 21 September 2026. Accommodation in Amsterdam for two nights will be provided for selected speakers, and limited funding is available to reimburse travel expenses. 2. Call for Papers: The Irish Yearbook of International Law. At a moment of profound anxiety for the international legal system, the Editors of The Irish Yearbook of International Law are inviting submissions (by 16 October 2026) on any area of international law for publication as an article in the next volume of the Irish Yearbook (Volume XVIII).  Book review proposals (deadline: 31 August 2026) are also welcome. While the Yearbook welcomes submissions with an Irish connection, this is not a requirement. Further information is available here.

3. Call for Abstracts: Yerevan International Conference on International Humanitarian Law – Protecting Humanity in Armed Conflict: Contemporary Challenges for International Humanitarian Law. Armenian International Law Association (AILA), with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Armenia, is inviting scholars, practitioners, humanitarian actors, diplomats, military experts, and students to submit abstracts for the Yerevan International Conference on International Humanitarian Law: Protecting Humanity in Armed Conflict: Contemporary Challenges for International Humanitarian Law scheduled for 27 – 28 November in Yerevan, Armenia. Abstracts are invited under one of the following four thematic panels, developed in line with the priorities of the Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to IHL: (1) Preventing Violations of IHL: Compliance, Deterrence and Early Warning; (2) Protecting Civilians, Essential Services and Cultural Heritage; (3)  Modernizing IHL for Emerging Threats and New Domains of Warfare; and (4) Linking IHL to Peacebuilding and Reconciliation.
