Announcements: CfP Austrian Review of International and European Law; CfP Solventia Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws; Future of the United Nations Organisation Webinar; TwoLaW Lecture Series on the Laws of War

1. Call for Papers: The Austrian Review of International and European Law. The Austrian Review of International and European Law (ARIEL) has issued a Call for Papers for its Volume 31 (2026) and is inviting all interested persons to submit contributions. The ARIEL is an annual publication that provides a scholarly forum to discuss issues of public international law and European law, with particular emphasis on topics being of special interest to Austria, and welcomes both longer analytical articles (8,000-12,500 words) and shorter notes on current developments (6,000-8,000 words). The issue will focus on questions surrounding ‘peace and security’ in international law, in light of the (consistent) inability of the UN collective security system to effectively function, increasing unilateral action of states reacting to (perceived) threats to their security and the turn to regional organizations as the UN system fails to deliver. Submissions should include a confirmation of exclusive submission and be sent to the Corresponding Editor (philipp.janig {at} univie.ac(.)at) by 30 October 2026.

2. Call for Papers: Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws. Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws (e-ISSN: 3108-2548), established by National Law University, Jodhpur, India, is currently accepting original, unpublished manuscripts for Volume III, Issue 2. The Journal is a bi-annual, double-blind peer-reviewed publication dedicated exclusively to research in insolvency and bankruptcy law. Submissions may be made under the categories of long articles, short articles, case notes, or book reviews. The deadline for submission is 11:59 PM on 31 July 2026. 3. The Future of the United Nations Organisation, if any – Webinar. This webinar, part of the ESIL Conversations Series, will engage a series of senior practitioners and scholars to discuss the role and future of multilateralism at the United Nations in an era increasingly shaped by unilateralism. 4. TwoLaW Lecture Series on the Laws of War. The next lecture in the TwoLaW Lecture Series on the Laws of War, organised by Professor Jochen von Bernstorff and Professor Andreas Kulick, will take place on 27 July 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm CET and will feature León Castellanos-Jankiewicz (University of Amsterdam Faculty of Law and the Asser Institute), who will speak on “Rearming Europe: Accountability Gaps, War Economies, and Global Risks.” The lecture will examine the legal and policy challenges arising from Europe’s current rearmament efforts, including accountability gaps in defence procurement, escalatory rearmament dynamics, and the broader implications for international security and arms control.
